Red Hen Products
Amy Warde loves to make jam and has been hooked ever since she picked her first batch of wild grapes at age 11 and failed miserably at jam making. Undaunted, I have forged ahead, gaining education and experience enough to become the jam-making juggernaut that I be. Red Hen Products makes over 30 types of jam as well as syrups, relishes, chutneys, etc. and is constantly developing new recipes from our local foods and abroad. I utilize many locally grown and wildcrafted fruits and vegetables because they are sustainable, of superior quality, and what's better my friends and neighbors grow them!
So here we find ourselves eating local in the Rockies in zone 4, and I for one am feeling quite content about it. I know my garden is not going to provide the 2 pound-quart-jar-filling-tomatoes of my childhood but look what we have here! Montana provides an amazing food diversity with it's abundance of wildlife, and wild fruits, berries, and herbs. We are especially spoiled in the Bozeman region where we can now enjoy a plethora of locally grown fruits, veggies, herbs, meat, etc. from our many local growers. I am very proud to be involved in this team effort and make every possible attempt to see that my products are not only fully decadent but in harmony with the good thing we got goin' here. I am blessed to be raising 2 future jam makers, 6 and 11, who crowd the kitchen to carry on the tradition.
P.S. Hey!- Don't throw those jar out! Jar refund of $.25 available for any jam jars.
