Kvichak Fish Company
We are four commercial fishermen, born and raised in Butte, Bozeman and Helena who have worked in the Bristol Bay, Alaska salmon fishery for 9 years. What began as a job to pay for school at MSU and the U of M has now turned into more. We set-net on the Kvichak River in June and July and personally custom process our own catch in a small certified plant on-shore. We cold-store and smoke the salmon ourselves at the Mission Mountain Food Enterprises Cooperative in Ronan. The Alaska fishing industry is a world-wide model for sustainable fisheries management and harvest, and while the salmon isn't "Montana-made" the fishermen are, as is our smoked salmon. Our product is wild-caught, with no additives, dyes, hormones or preservatives.
